I really like this model. The form is overall very nicely drawn and the design is very detailed and creative. My goodness, those colors as well as how well the contrast is shown between the character and the background. If anything, I think the proportions on the face are a little unclear. It's like it tried to be a 3/4 but due to its lack of structure, it kind of looks a bit like a melted frontview. I think the other side of the face should line up a little better as well as the eye being put in more of a smooth "curve", like if there was a wave between the eyes to signal the perspective.

This is otherwise just a very nicely composed drawing, and for pixel art, the detail is very meticulous.

thanks for the review <3 I do tend to struggle with faces a lot haha, especially with pixel art, trying to make do without being able to use curved lines and stuff, but definitely working on it :DD

These are adorable. The colors are so vibrant and the eyes are so detailed and lifelike; I also like the more mammalized look of them whilst still being able to tell what species they are. Very pretty!

The lighting is very warm and well rendered, adding to the overall comfortable aspect of the piece. It's quite nice to lay upon. I may suggest that while this may be stylistic, some of the texturing is very unclear; for example, the hair looks a little plasticy and the way the curtains in the background are drawn appear strangely "consistent" and less like they have that defined shape. I feel like hey should look less sharp compared to the shapes in the foreground as it appears slightly jarring to the viewer and makes the definition very unclear. However, the rendering on this piece is otherwise impeccable.

Hey, thanks so much for the detailed critique!

The composition is very nicely done, albeit a little confusing. I feel like in areas like the background, the perspective blurrs the lines of what it's supposed to be and the depth is a little hard to read. However, in the forefront of the image, the perspective is very nicely done and the way the lighting showers everything is really pretty. The colors are fantastic and I love how the brighter and more vivid colors are only seen under the moonlight. The simple style of lighting combined with cel shading makes the visuals very cartoonish, but very pleasing. Bravo!

FuShark responds:

I don't find it too confusing honestly. I could have added another value to help push depth but didn't feel it all too necessary for this.

Thanks for writing this up!

The texturing on this is very well done. It almost has a slightly "dirty" but elaborate paint texture that makes its form extremely entriguing. I gotta love how the perspective forshortens things and makes this almost have a "paper" look, yet still look material enough to tell apart its form. The concept is very creative and I like the overall form and how its so clustered that it almost resembles a sticker.

Hiya. Name's Aster, but I also go by Rasp and Hush. I do a lot of scifi and philosophical based writing, and my imagery is often based on personal values as well as things like dreams. I am very interested in zoology and work for a studio called Sinnason.
